Step aside Syed Noor, Sangeeta, Reema and Javed Sheikh, your services to save Lollywood are no more required, now you guys can focus on the idiot box (television). A messiah is here to save Lollywood…

The gujjars and pehlwans are now very happy, as a typical Punjabi flick with all the jhatkas and matkas of Punjabi lasses, has broken all previous box-office records. We are talking about Nargis who is phonetically known in Punjab as Nargas and her latest flick, Soowha Jora (Bridal Dress). When she was looking for a financer, not a single producer was interested in the project. Nargis decided to produce the movie with her husband Syed Zubair Shah. On the opening day of the movie, in the cultural city of Lahore, outside the premiering cinema, a massive stampede occured. It was a scene that was observed after 20 good years. After witnessing the massive success, a question came to our mind, why did cinemagoers go crazy after the movie? What was so special about it? The answer revolves around Nargis. She has been the hottest selling actress, known for her bold dances. Thousands of CDs were produced, based only on her dance performances.

Soohwa Jora feature her dances making the masses go wild. Now the gujjars and pehlwans and their pet directors have their eyes set on Nargis. They are seeing her as the messiah who can save the dying Pakistani film industry.
The question is: Can an item girl really save Lollywood?

After the super success of her first movie Koi Tujh Sa Kahan, Reema is again gearing up to don the producer’s cap and make another flick. She wants to shoot the entire movie in UK. The cast is not yet finalized although the script is ready. Can we expect another brilliant effort? Only future can tell.

Film director Shehzad Rafique’s latest flick Muhabattan Sachian has created a new record even before its release. The whole movie has been passed by the Censor Board, without cutting a single frame. Congratulations, Mr Rafique, for making a movie which simply does not have any vulgarity or violence. We hope that the film will break all previous box-office records too.
