Following efforts to revive the Pakistan film industry and after making Sindh Minister for Culture, Rauf Siddiqui agree to his suggestions, famous director, producer and visual effects creator Saeed Rizvi met Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in Islamabad recently. He was accompanied by a delegation from the film industry that included Mustafa Qureshi, Shaan, Syed Noor, Ajab Gul, Reema, Hassan Zaidi, Jamshed Zafar, Sangeeta, Asif Khan, Tariq Shah, Agha Nasir, Satish Anand, Gul Akbar Khan Afridi and Javed Jabbar. The Prime Minister agreed to the suggestions presented by the delegation to revive Pakistan film industry. Federal Minister for Culture, G.G. Jamal and Secretary for Culture, Salim Sheikh were also present.

Saeed Rizvi strongly believes that in order to progress, co-productions with Bollywood on equal basis are a must. He is a firm believer that Karawood (film industry in Karachi) is a necessity. In past Karachi-based producers and directors have proved their mettle by giving super-hit movies. A film industry in Karachi can easily finish the monopoly of those in Lahore, who are producing the worst films ever made, resulting in the downfall of Pakistan film industry.

Our very own Majajan Saima said that she was offered leading roles in the upcoming flicks Puttar Humayun Gujjar Da and Wehsi Rajput, but she politely refused them as she is not willing to work any more in movies based on gujjars and gangsters. “Shaan has produced Puttar Humayun Gujjar Da; I really do not know why he is making a movie based on such a trashy subject. He is also making Zilleshah which definitely can bring good to Lollywood. I am working in Jhoomar, Gulabo, Maula and Zilleshah. Just by the names one can easily understand that they are of high standard. I do not want to let the cinemagoers expectations go down after Majajan,” Saima said. Well, we wish her all the best.
