After a long absence from the turf, Samina Peerzada is all set to don the director’s cap once again. After the brilliant success of her maiden big-screen caper and the disaster of her follow-up project, Lisa (as she is affectionately known among her near and dear ones) has just announced a new film. It seems that the gruesome carnage of May 12 in Karachi has given her the motivation to use it as the main peg of her new movie. It is basically a love story between a Mohajir girl and a Pathan boy. Does it ring a bell? Remember the famous Kunwar Ahsan and Riffat Afridi love affair, almost a decade back? Anyway, while the name of the actor to play the male protagonist is yet to be announced, for the female lead, Samina is said to be considering an actress from across the great divide. Hmm! Scintillating stuff, won’t you agree?

Let’s talk about the affairs of the heart. It seems after splitting up with Veena Malik, the hot hunk, Babrik Shah didn’t waste a second in finding another partner. His new love interest is model Fia and ever since they met, witnesses say that they have become inseparable. Aww, new love… The surprising side to this story is that Veena has maintained a staunch silence. As a matter of fact, the new lady in Veena’s ex’s life has recently been given a slot on the telly show Hum Sab Umeed Say Hain which is undoubtedly Veena’s domain, who has become the life and soul of the show. Some sceptics said that Meera’s honeymoon with Bollywood is all but over after the debacle of her debut movie Nazar which didn’t get the cash registers jingling. The truth is that her godfather, that is Mr Bhatt, still likes her a lot and has signed her for another Bollywood venture. The film Shohrat – The Dark Side of Fame is loosely inspired from the English film Sunset Boulevard. The film will focus on the harsh realities of Bollywood – casting couch, betrayals, cat fights et al. The story will focus on a top actress played by Meera who gradually goes into oblivion and loses her position in the highly competitive industry. The male lead is still to be finalized, though a little birdie has said that Maheshji is trying to rope in Emraan Hashmi for the role. Well, if he says yes, then we surely have another kiss(a) in the making. Right, Meera!

Talking about comebacks, we have another man who is back in the swing with his typical Lollywood style. And he is Saud. Ever since he got married to TV actress Javeria Jalil he has kept a low profile but the news is that he has managed to grab some huge projects. He has started shooting for his new movie Ishtihari Rajput directed by Masood Butt. Saud will be sharing the screen with Shaan and Nargis who have become a hit pair after the success of their latest flick Soha Jora. Ishtihari Rajput has been scripted by Nasir Adeeb and Jaffar Arsh while the musical score is being done by Taffoo. After the recent release of Achhu Lahoria, it is Saud’s second film with the same director. Well, Saud, welcome back and keep up the pace!
