Starting off as a model for print and electronic media, and an actor by passion, Afreen Shareef’s first stint on the celluloid was as the heroine in the hit film Dil Toh Pagal Hai directed by Sangeeta almost a decade ago. For Afreen it was a dream come true as she always wanted to be part of the film fraternity. However, her filmi career was cut short since she found the industry to be a highly uncouth place to work. But Afreen continued working as an actress in telly dramas with her first serial to go on air being Andheray Darichay in which her character, Ashi Bibi became a runaway hit. After working in a few plays, Afreen felt that creative satisfaction was lacking in the acting assignments she was pursuing. Hence, she took a break and opted to test her skills as a producer. Afreen has finally found her footing and is currently working with Ovais Khan’s Infinity Films as a producer. Her first production for Infinity was drama serial Azal followed by Noor Mahal on Geo, Dilruba Nautanki (GEO), Dil Dhundta Hai and Ane Wala Pal (TVONE) . In short, it can safely be said that Afreen Shareef has certainly come a long way and one will be seeing a lot of the pretty and talented actress. |
